Members split into two parties. Group A visit places of interest such as Kedleston Hall, Rufford Old Hall, Eyam Well Dressings and Jodrell Bank. In addition, Group B take part in a leisurely ramble in surrounding countryside to appreciate the flora and fauna. Walks are no longer than 6 miles and time is taken to enjoy and identify flowers and birds that are seen.
In October the trip is followed by an evening meal in a local pub.
The main pickup point is outside Sainsburys’, Market Street, in the middle of Huddersfield.
These are more local visits to places of interest such as Wentworth Castle, Harewood House and Ripley Castle. These may include a short walk for those members who wish to enjoy the surrounding countryside.
